If you’re self-employed in Scotland you can join the Making Tax Digital pilot for Income Tax.
The government have introduced a pilot scheme to allow businesses across Scotland time to try out new software ahead of the Making Tax Digital scheme. As part of the Making Tax Digital pilot, self-employed businesses can volunteer to use software to keep their business records digitally and send Income Tax updates to HMRC, instead of filing a Self Assessment tax return. By signing up to HMRC’s new secure service, you can help to test a new way of working out your tax as part of the Making Tax Digital pilot.
